International feed classification system
2024-07-25
According to the international feed classification system, according to the classification method of American scholar Harris(1963), feed is divided into eight categories according to the nutritional characteristics of feed.
The coding form and classification of the eight types of feed are as follows:
one Coarse feed (1-00-000) refers to a class of feed with a crude fiber content of more than 18% in dry matter, mainly including hay, straw, agricultural and sideline products and crude fiber content in dry matter.
More than 18% of the residue, leaves and so on.
2. Green feed (2-00-000) refers to a class of feed with a natural moisture content of more than 60%, including grass, leafy vegetables, non-starchy roots and fruits, aquatic grasses, etc. The contents of crude protein and crude fiber after drying were not considered.
3. Silage (3-00-000) silage made from fresh natural plant feed and silage with appropriate amount of bran or other additives, including semi-dry silage with a moisture content of 45% to 55%.
4. Energy feed (4-00-000) refers to a class of feed with the crude fiber content of dry matter below 18% and the crude protein content below 20%, mainly including grain, bran, starch root, melon and fruit, oil, grass seed and tree.
5. Protein feed (5-00-000) refers to a class of feed with crude fiber content of less than 18% and crude protein content of more than 20% in dry matter, mainly including plant protein feed, animal protein feed, single cell protein feed and so on.
6. Mineral feeds (6-00-000) include industrially synthesized or natural single mineral feeds, mineral feeds mixed with multiple minerals, and mineral additive premixes with carriers or diluents.
Seven. Vitamin feed (7-00-000) refers to a synthetic or purified single vitamin or multivitamin, but does not include natural feed with a higher content of a vitamin.
8. Additive (8-00-000) refers to a variety of non-nutritive additive raw materials and their preparation products used to enhance the feeding effect and facilitate the production and storage of compound feed. Such as a variety of antibiotics, antioxidants, anti-mildew agents, binding agents, colorants, flavor enhancers and health care and metabolic regulation drugs.
According to the nutritional value classification can be divided into the following four categories:
one Full price compound feed. It can meet all the nutrients needed by livestock and poultry, and is composed of energy feed, protein feed, mineral feed, vitamins, amino acids and trace element additives, etc., and according to the specified feeding standards, it is a good quality, comprehensive nutrition and balanced feed. Such feed can be fed directly to livestock and poultry.
2. Concentrated feed. It is made of protein feed, mineral feed and additive premix mixed in a certain proportion. Because the concentrated feed for pigs and chickens generally contains 25% to 40% crude protein, higher than the nutritional needs of pigs and chickens, the content of minerals and vitamins is also higher than the nutritional needs of pigs and chickens more than 2 times, so this kind of feed can not be fed directly, but according to the instructions to add corn or other energy feed before feeding. This kind of feed can reduce energy feed transportation, easy to use, and can solve the problem of shortage of protein feed for general farmers.
3. Additive premix. It is composed of one or more trace additives raw materials and carriers and diluents together mixed evenly mixture. The pre-mixing of trace components is beneficial to their uniform distribution in a large number of feeds. Additive premix is a semi-finished product of compound feed, which can be used by small and medium-sized feed mills to produce full-price compound feed or concentrated feed, and can be sold separately in the market, but can not be directly used to feed livestock and poultry. The additive premix production process is generally more refined and strict than the production requirements of compound feed, the ratio of products is more accurate, the mixing is more uniform, and most of them are produced by specialized factories.
4. Concentrate mix. A supplementary concentrate used in ruminant livestock such as cattle and sheep, mainly composed of energy feed, protein feed and mineral feed, used to supplement the insufficient nutrients in grass.
